Hampton Butte Petrified Wood

Hampton Buttes is in Deschutes County, Oregon. The green petrified wood at Hampton Buttes is from the Oligocene (about 28 million years ago). Although other localities have green petrified wood, this is the only locality in the world where the green wood is from Cedar trees.
