Irnimite - Blue Picture Jasper

Irnimite is a rare blue picture jasper found in Russia at the junction of the Ir and Nim rivers in Siberia. This jasper is found in manganese ores associated with skarns – a unique rock formation resulting from silica-rich magma injecting into carbonate-rich rocks such as limestone or marble.

This picture jasper has various ratios of blue amphibole, black manganese oxide (braunite), pinkish brown iron oxides and white quartz. This beautiful stone looks like a starry nebula in the sky.

Irnimite, as a variety of jasper, is a grounding stone associated with the root chakra. The blue color is also associated with the throat chakra, and aids in communication.
