Ukrainian Opal

Ukrainian opal is a new discovery in the Ukraine of a beautiful and unusual type of common opal. Common opal is opal that does not have “fire” or play of color. This opal was found near a copper ore deposit and the brassy and green colors are a product of copper infusion in the opal. Access to this new find is very restricted and availability on the market is highly limited.

This common opal cuts very nicely and can be cabbed without backing or stabilization.
