Tiger’s eye is a very popular stone because of the “chatoyance”, or the reflection of light off of the crystals. Tiger’s eye formed as fibrous amphibole that was later replaced by quartz. The structure and color of the amphibole are retained in the quartz. Tiger’s eye gets its name for the gold and brown color bands, which form from inclusions of iron in the structure.
The brown color of tiger’s eye is associated with the solar plexus chakra. Tiger’s eye resonates the courage of the tiger and helps to release fear and self-hate. By releasing these negative thoughts, it encourages wisdom and strength to persevere.
