Cherry Creek Jasper

This semi precious material is named Cherry Creek Jasper and is found in Mainland China. It is also known as Red Creek Jasper and comes from the Cherry Creek Mine. There is a nearby creek named Red Creek. This material is not a true jasper, probably a silicated dolomite. It has brecciated patterns in red, yellow, and grey/blues with highlights. It makes excellent semi precious gemstone designer cabochons and wears well in jewelry.
