Eclogite

Eclogite, sometimes called “Christmas tree rock” is an uncommon metamorphic rock with red garnets in green pyroxene crystals. Eclogite forms in high pressure systems when the oceanic crust is pushed deep into the mantle at subduction zones. Because they form at such great depths, they are not often seen at the Earth’s surface.
