Hexagonite

Hexagonite is a rare purple, lilac or reddish pink variety of tremolite, a type of amphibole.  The color in hexagonite comes from manganese in the crystal structure.  Hexagonite is an elongate crystal and often forms starburst pattens in the rock.  It is known from only two places in the world – St Lawrence County, New York and the Czech Republic where it was found in the Chynov caves.
