Seraphinite / Chlinochlore / "Chlorite Jade"

Seraphinite is a beautiful, chatoyant green feathery mineral found only in a limited area of Siberia. Seraphinite, like many unique minerals in this region, forms in a skarn – an unusual rock that forms when silica-rich fluids from a magma inject into carbonate-rich rocks such as limestone or marble. The interaction between these two very different compositions results in some unique and unusual minerals.

Seraphinite is named for its feathery look, thought to resemble the feathers of Seraphim angels, higher angels with a compassion for doing good.
